Secret To A Better, Tension Free Backswing
Good stuff, I see now I am not turning chest properly. Thanks for the tips! I will subscribe.
Thanks for the sub!
Yes. 👍
He’s also not lifting arms early which a lot of us do in lieu of a good turn. Great lesson. Thxs
Very true! You're welcome
Nice software
This is absolutely correct! I can't believe some of the online instructions telling you to jam your elbows forward and make all these weird body contortions! The arms swing down the sternum line, and the shallowing is the right arm losing some flex in that motion. And after the hands drop in front of your body you rotate through the ball. Justin Rose's "pump drill" in the downswing is one of the best examples.
Very relevant for me, this is an item I have noticed other pros recommending and which I was trying to incorporate. Thank you for clearing it up!
Glad it was helpful!
And Rahm and Thomas and Morikawa and Schauffle and Cantlay and Finau and virtually all of the best young players. The interlocking grip is the dominant grip on the tour now.
This demo helps alot. Thanks, guys.
Happy to help!
And Dechambeau, Hoveland, Keopka etc
Nicklaus, Tiger, Roy, Sheffler, Gay etc. It is much more secure than the overlap (which is being used less and less)
Great drill and visual. Where did you purchase the training aid?
Great drill. Can you do a video that incudes what the racket suppose to look like swinging backswing to the top?
This is my exact problem, I’ll try it! Thanks!!
Makes sense. Hand setup same for all clubs? Thanks…
Love this idea!
Great tip kevin
Ball don’t lie !
So glad u talked about this lol. Had this problem for years
In a wedge fitting do you hit shots from around the green (sand, rough and fairway?) Thanks
Think of a baseball swing, or a hockey or lacrosse shot. Do they keep an arm straight? Of course not. Obviously, you can still hit good shots with a straight arm. But you have to do so many other things to compensate for it, that mostly only young athletic guys can do it. And usually only after years of practice. Whereas the golf swing is easy and natural if you bend the lead arm. Like all the other stick sports, eventually you want the arms to straighten out, but all the power comes from uncurling the bent arms. Your dominant hand is your trail hand, not your lead hand. That's the key to understanding the golf swing.
Great lesson Kev!👍🏻
Excellent!
How do you know the angle to place the hula hoop at though?
Question- is the change in angle between the driver and wedge something that naturally happens with a correct takeaway and a result of the shaft lengths being different (longer for driver, shorter for wedge) or do you have to actually be doing something different in your takeaway to achieve those angles.
try telling ben hogan that his flat back swing wont work. or how about ricky fowler!!!
What do you mean squish front foot. I can’t get that feeling.
How do you bump? Do you push off back foot do bump hips? Or how do I bump them?
Makes good sense. Will definitely give this a try. Thanks for what sounds like a very good tip regarding proper set-up to the ball.
Good reminder. Definitely helps, but have to constantly remind myself.
So glad I came here. Practiced today and I am definitely doing better. Just trying to figure out when the trail starts folding. I am in between folding my trail arm when the club is parallel from the ground vs trail arm fold when my lead arm is parallel to the ground.
You literally changed my golf game. I just started 5 months ago. Went to multiple lessons. Watched hundreds of videos. I couldn’t understand what to do with my hips. It made no sense I was just at top of back swing pushing off back leg. Then I was trying to just squat. It was brutal. Came across your Channel. Thanks man.
OG got those jordan’s, i see u
OMG, so good, i realized that by my own by practing, but every single vídeo on UA-cam and others channela say hands forwards, thank u so much to show me im not Crazy. Sorry for the bad english, i speak portuguese
Any help is good help for me at the moment 👌🏼 gonna try this tomorrow
Thinned shot
Excellent illustration. Very simple, easily understood explanation. I will show this vid to my students. 😊
Great drill 🎉 💪 swing shirt but nore simple. 👍
Do you want ur butt down?
This helps for sure thanks!
My favourite golf coach with another great tip. Thank you Kevin.
Hi Excellent explanation. Do you have a swing trigger movement to start the actual bachswing? Thanks Fred P.
Gonna try this one. Thanks for sharing!
I accidentally found this move myself in my garage the other day hitting into my net. Got crisp strikes with this pump move. 👍

This lesson was so helpful to me , thank you !
Happy it was helpful!
The guy in the pink shirt behind you firing shot after shot could benefit from this lesson. Keep the content coming.
Excellent. So why can you explain this in 58 secs and others take 10 or more minutes to get to the point? Thanks!
I can't wait to try this! One of my biggest problems is getting the clyb and hands to "rest" in the backswing and then of course trying to recover !!
I got them big muscles
